Interview with Hal of Jenna Jaxon’s HEART OF DELIGHT & giveaway

He’ll do anything to be her heart’s delight—except tell the truth.

Gabriella d’Adventure is on a mission. She has come to England as a lady’s maid in pursuit of the Duke of Rother. When she meets Horace Carpenter, valet to a marquess, she is delighted to enlist his aid in gaining her heart’s desire: a meeting with the duke. But will her growing feelings for the handsome valet interfere with her plans for the duke?

The eccentric Marquess of Halford, Hal to his friends, is tired of the demands of Society, especially his father’s decree that he marry this Season. When a breathtaking young woman intrudes on his solitude, he is captivated and introduces himself as his valet in hopes of learning more about her. Despite his fear about the true motive behind Gabriella’s quest to meet the Duke of Rother, Hal agrees to help her gain an audience with him, all the while praying his deception won’t ruin his chances of winning her love.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

  1. What is your name? Jonathan George Horatio Arturus, the Marquess of Halford Do you have a nickname? My friends call me Hal, which I much prefer.
  2. Who is your best friend? At the moment my best friend is my distant cousin, Lady Celinda Graham What kinds of things do you do when you’re together? We dance, we talk, and we plot how to get me what I want: a wife
  3. If you have a family, how do you get along with them? I have a father who I rub along with tolerably well. I’d be getting along better with him if he hadn’t decreed that I marry this Season. Twenty-eight is a trifle young for a leg-shackle, but Father is adamant. If you don’t, are there people in your life that you consider family? How do you get along with them?
  4. Do you have a birthmark? Scars? Where is it/are they? How did you get it/them? What an odd thing to ask. But no, I have neither. Should I acquire some, do you think?
  5. When you’re angry, what do you do? Where do you go? How do you deal with your anger? I don’t get angry very often. When I do, I have a nasty temper and people tend to remove themselves from my presence post haste. I have been known to throw people out doors when they annoy me severely.
  6. If you had to make me a meal right now, without going to the store, what would you find in your refrigerator to feed us? I would not make you a meal. I have servants for that. They can be very resourceful if there’s a last minute request. What would you like?
  7. What’s the one thing you’re afraid of losing? My independence, which is why I’m currently looking for a wife. My father has decreed that I marry, or he’ll cut me off without a penny until I come in to my inheritance. As he’s hale and hearty as a horse, I’m searching for a woman who I think I can get along with.
  8. What makes you laugh out loud? The shallow constraints that Society puts on the men and women in it. Why they think one set of rules—very narrow rules at that—fit everyone, I simply cannot fathom. I try to thwart them whenever I can.
  9. Has anyone broken your heart? Who was s/he? No one has managed to touch my heart yet, so I think there’s no chance of that at the moment.
  10. What’s the one thing you want out of life that you don’t think you can have? Why can’t you have it? I’m sorry to say that I don’t think I can have true happiness in marriage because I’ve got to hurry up the process to placate my father. How one is to find the perfect woman in three months, when one hates to move about in Society, makes me think that I will need to marry from necessity rather than love. A pity, as I see many of my friends doing just that—marrying for love.

An Interview with Bastian Dean, hero from Love Me, Master Me by Anya Summers

  1. What is your name? Do you have a nickname?

My name is Sebastian Dean. Everyone calls me Bastian. Although in the club I’m referred to as Master B.

  1. Who is your best friend? What kinds of things do you do when you’re together?

My bandmates: Collum, Jax, Lachlan, and Eric. We’ve been traveling the world performing for the better part of a decade. We grew up together in the orphanage in Perth, Australia. We are all members of an exclusive BDSM club. When we aren’t touring, we have a tendency to gravitate toward one of the clubs. Lucky for us there is one in New York and near LA in Pasadena, in addition to the original club in Scotland.

  1. If you have a family, how do you get along with them? If you don’t, are there people in your life that you consider family? How do you get along with them?

No. My family, such as it was had all abandoned me by the time I was seven. I consider my bandmates my family. We are more like brothers than friends. Have been ever since our ragtag group formed a teens.

  1. Do you have a birthmark? Scars? Where is it/are they? How did you get it/them?

No birthmarks or scars. I do have some tattoos though on my arms.

  1. When you’re angry, what do you do? Where do you go? How do you deal with your anger?

Sex with a willing sub tends to make my anger evaporate. Besides, what do I have to be angry about? I’m living the high life that most people can only dream about. Considering where I started out in life, I know just how lucky I am.

  1. If you had to make me a meal right now, without going to the store, what would you find in your refrigerator to feed us?

I’m surprisingly a decent cook. When I’m home, I’m all about grilling and you’d probably find massive amounts of meat in the fridge. Since I tour for the better part of the year though, room service is typically my go to when I’m hungry.

  1. What’s the one thing you’re afraid of losing?

My independence. I learned at an early age to count on myself and I don’t want to get dependent on another or have my happiness wound up with another. That way, when they leave it’s no harm, no foul.

  1. What makes you laugh out loud?

Watching the antics of some of the Harbingers fans. And bad lip reading videos.

  1. Has anyone broken your heart? Who was s/he?

Yep, me mum when I was seven.

  1. What’s the one thing you want out of life that you don’t think you can have? Why can’t you have it?

As much as I shy away from commitment, I want that one woman, that one sub that belongs to me, who is willing to wear my cuffs proclaiming she is mine and no other. Come on, in my line of work, it’s hard to distinguish the liars and the fakes.

LOVE ME, MASTER ME (Dungeon Fantasy Club, Book 6)

Delilah Gregory is an opera superstar, enchanting the world with her soaring voice and voluptuous form. When her long-time friend, Declan, asks her to perform at his wedding, she can’t refuse, and heads to Mullardoch Manor in Scotland. She’s looking forward to finding a Dom to play with while she’s there, although with the demands of her career, and still recovering from her ex’s betrayal, the last thing on earth she’s looking for is an actual relationship.

Bastian Dean is a rock star, playing to sold-out stadiums worldwide. His bedroom tastes have always been on the wild side, and the only way he can find satisfaction is when he has a bound submissive begging for his touch. Unlike most rock stars, he keeps his dalliances to bona fide members of the Dungeon Fantasy Club – and as far away from the tabloids as possible. When he meets the ethereal beauty Delilah at the manor, Bastian is determined to enjoy the beautiful, submissive woman’s bounty.

Delilah is stunned by the ecstasy she finds within Bastian’s arms. She doesn’t even like the man much – aside from what he can make her feel even as he disciplines her bare bottom. But despite her misgivings about him, what starts out as a bit of fun and play in the dungeon soon turns into a relationship, where Delilah finds herself healing under Bastian’s passionate touch.

When the demands of her career and a threat from her past intervene, Bastian must use every note in his arsenal to convince Delilah that theirs is a duet worth singing. But can she be convinced to trust him with her heart?

Publisher’s Note: While this is the sixth book in the Dungeon Fantasy Club series, it – like all the others – can be enjoyed as a standalone. This story contains explicit erotic and BDSM scenes, so if such material is likely to offend you, please do not read it.

About The Book

Omar Drummond is a pro football superstar with a body that’s a pure work of art. But Morgan Gray is forbidden to act on their chemistry, or repeat their impulsive kiss. Proving her worth as a sports agent means securing the notorious celebrity as a client, not a lover. Yet between flowers, sweet notes and heady hotel interludes, Omar is shamelessly seducing her…

Other agents—and exes—have tried using Omar as a meal ticket, and he’s closed himself off from emotional entanglements. With Morgan, it’s a whole new playbook. Smart and tough, she can negotiate a contract and turn him on all in one go, and he craves more. But in matters of trust, he’s just fumbled badly. To win her he has to show her the man he can be away from the field and the limelight, and hope that this time they’re both playing for keeps.

Omar knew he had taken a risk showing up at Morgan’s office, but he was desperate. It had taken a lot to persuade Malcolm to share his sister’s information, especially since Omar had declined to say what had happened between them. He toyed with calling first, but changed his mind because he didn’t want to chance her refusing to see him. The woman seated outside Morgan’s office, whom he assumed was the assistant, greeted him with a wide smile and an exaggerated sway of her hips as she led him to the office. Omar ignored the not-so-subtle brush of her breasts against his arm when she turned to leave. In his peripheral vision, he noticed the slight rise in Morgan’s eyebrow and knew she’d seen it, too. He waited until the woman closed the door before turning to face Morgan.
Morgan folded her arms. “What are you doing here?”

“Hello to you, too,” he said.
An embarrassed expression crossed her face. “Sorry. Have a seat.”
Omar took the chair opposite her desk. “I apologize for stopping by without calling, but I figured you wouldn’t see me otherwise.”
“You were probably right. How do you know I won’t call security to throw you out now?”
“I don’t, but I’m counting on your love of football to work in my favor.” They engaged in a stare-down for several seconds until she looked away first.
“How did you know where I worked?”
“Malcolm.” She frowned and he added, “If it’s any consolation, he adamantly refused to divulge your home address.”
“Well, maybe I won’t kill him, after all.”
He chuckled.
“Since you went through all this trouble, I guess I can spare you five minutes.”
Omar knew the mention of football would rouse her curiosity. “I’d like to talk to you about a business proposition.”
“What does that have to do with football?”
“My contract is up for renewal in six weeks and—”
“Don’t you have an agent? If memory serves me correctly, you have one of the best agents around.”
“Things aren’t always as they seem.”
She sat up straight. “What are you saying?”
“I’m saying it’s time for a change, and I’d like you to negotiate my upcoming contract. You’re an attorney and, according to your brother, you know football like you’ve played it all your life.”
Her eyes lit up and her mouth fell open. “Are you serious? Wait a minute.” She sat back again and angled her head. “What about your current agent? Did he dump you or something?”
Omar sighed. “No.” There was more to it, but he would only tell her if she agreed to represent him.
Morgan narrowed her eyes. “There are dozens of sports agents out there, and I’m certain any one of them would be happy to take you on, especially with your numbers from last year. Yet you’re in my office.”

He smiled. “You checked my stats? So, you’re admitting I’ve got game?”
A rush of color darkened her face. “Why me?” she asked, ignoring his questions.
“You want to be an agent, and I need one.” He leaned forward and whispered, “And I know you passed the sport’s agent certification test. It’s a win-win situation for both of us.”
“On second thought, I am going to kill Malcolm,” she muttered.
“I need your help, Morgan. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t.”
“I have to think about this.” She turned slightly in her chair and stared out the window, and then back at him. “You realize I already have a job. And I’m working on a case.”
Omar nodded. “I understand, and I have no problems working around your schedule.”
“Even on weekends or late evenings.”
“I see.” She went back to staring out the window.
He could almost hear the wheels turning in her head. She bit down on her lip, drawing his attention and reminding him how much he enjoyed kissing her.

Finally she angled her head his direction. “I’ll agree on one condition.”
“What’s that?”
“You keep your hands and lips to yourself. No more kisses.”
Omar groaned inwardly. There was no way he could go without kissing her. In fact, it had been the first thing on his mind from the moment he saw her today. “Morgan—”
“No. More. Kisses,” she repeated.

Coddiwomple and WATER BEARER by Wendi Christner with GC giveaway

A friend of mine posted the definition of coddiwomple on Facebook. Coddiwomple (v). meaning to travel in a purposeful manner toward a vague destination.

This word hooked me. It sang to me the way some words do. I believe travelers coined the term, but as we lovers of reading know, there’s more than one way to go places. I do travel in the traditional sense, but books have taken me far more places than cars and airplanes have.

Then I realized I coddiwomple. I coddiwomple when I write. My meandering method used to bother me, but as of late I have fully embraced my process. A lot of writers plot their books from beginning to end. Some fly by the seat of their pants. I sail along somewhere in between. As soon as I begin a book and establish the characters, I generally have a vague idea of where the story might end up. But the ending always surprises me, at least a little.

In stories, whether I’m reading or writing, the journey is what inspires me. While I may not know how the stories are going to end, from the outset my purpose is clear. My purpose when I read and travel is to experience the journey. The purpose of my writing is to take others on the journey with me.

Come on, you know you want to say it. Let’s say it together. Coddiwomple. What an awesome word! Coddiwomple. Coddiwomple. Coddiwomple!

We can delve a little deeper. Think about how we all coddiwomple through life. No matter how purposeful our personal journeys, the ultimate destination is vague. Right up to the very end (if there is such a thing) we are gifted with new discovery and knowledge. Throughout our lives as we move along a twisting path, we can never see far enough ahead to know where the journey will bring us. Isn’t there something so romantic about that? Isn’t that why we keep turning the page?

I hope when I reach my ultimate destination in this life, I think of this word. I hope it makes me smile then the way it does now. I hope it makes you smile and reflect a little on where you are, how you got there, and where you may still go.

Let’s raise a glass to coddiwomple for being the inspiring verb that it is. And for being one of those words that’s just fun to say. To coddiwomple! In everything we do, may we set out with purpose and land someplace more magical than we could have imagined.

Please check out my new release Water Bearer, a story of ever-lasting love and forgiveness that travels deep into my heart. I would be honored to take you on that journey with me.
