A stalker ends up decapitated, but that’s just the start. Detectives Milligan and Marshall quickly begin an investigation of his victim, her family and even the stalker's family. All have motives for the killing. When Milligan strikes out on his own no one knows where or why he left, but Stacey, his police officer fiancée senses something wrong and frantically tries to find him. Things look really bad when his beloved MG is found in the lagoon on the Santa Barbara college campus. Will his body be next?
An Axe to Grind is a well written story. Not exactly a mystery, more of a police procedure story. However, the author chose to include a lot of characters and some sub-plots that I felt weren’t really necessary for the stories’ effectiveness. Over all the main characters and plot were good as was the ending.
