When life gets complicated, New York Times bestselling author Sherryl Woods proves family-and love-can make all the difference
Facing a personal crisis, ambitious and driven Gabriella Castle retreats to the welcoming arms of her family. Everything she's worked for has been yanked out from under her, and she seeks the serenity of her grandmother's home on the North Carolina coast. With difficult decisions to make about her future, the last thing she wants is an unexpected love.
Wade Johnson fell for Gabi the first time he saw her. It's not the only time he's found himself in the role of knight in shining armor, but Gabi isn't looking for a rescuer. To get her to stay, Wade will need a whole lot of patience and gentle persuasion...and maybe the soothing sound of wind chimes on a summer breeze.
Sometimes life throws you a curve in more ways than one. Gabriella Castle finds out that she’s pregnant, the father of her child refuses to take responsibility and she loses her job because her boss does not think her moral values are up to his standards. Going home to her family she decides to stay with her grandmother, Cora Jean and then things begin to heat up, wedding plans for her sister Emily and then something happens that might change things for her. With the rug pulled out from under her, the only solution is to hope that her family will support her. But, not everything goes as planned and sometimes the unexpected happens as she encounters Wade Johnson, someone that fell for her a long time ago. Not waiting for her to agree to see him he plans a date, or just a night out. Before she can reconsider he sets the time, the place and then what happens is straight out of a Spencer Tracey and Katherine Hepburn movie. But, having a child is going to be difficult enough. Dealing with Paul, the father will take some major rethinking. Does she want him to be a part of her child’s life or would it be better for him to sign over his rights?
With the support of her sisters and her grandmother this is just one hurdle she needs to overcome. But, there are more as she and her sisters are sort of estranged from their father and meeting a young man named Jimmy would bring him in the picture for a special reason. Reuniting with her father and asking him for help was not easy for Gabi or anyone else in her family but he just might surprise her. Meeting Wade’s sister would start off well but then the deep-freeze sets in when Gabi makes one simple remark about her child. Differences in opinions, strains, match making from Cora Jean and decisions that have to be made.
Once again Sheryl Woods creates more than just a simple romance novel but real life situations that people face and have to deal with everyday. As things start to come into place, Gabi decides to revamp her life, her career and not take a backward turn to a job she was fired from. Wind chimes seem to be calming and peaceful and learning how to create maybe the answer to her problems as she takes lessons from a local artist. Added in we learn more about a young man named Jimmy who she and Wade have taken a strong interest in. Smart, intelligent and wanting to go into the biomedical field, she asks her father for some help to get him a scholarship. But, how this entire thing works out has yet to be seen as there is much more that needs be brought to light.
Author Sheryl Woods once again raises the bar in romance novel writing. The Castle family is very diverse and the sisters are quite unique. Samantha is trying to rekindle her acting career and with Gabi’s know how as a publicist it might happen in spite of her ex-agent and his comments about her age. Emily is amazing in her support for Gabi, changing her wedding date because of the baby and making sure Samantha has the support she needs if she decides to start over again in Las Vegas. Wade and Gabi come to an impasse when a secret about his past is revealed. Gabi learns the truth and the rift between him and his sister seems to widen once again. Will she and Wade find away to be together? What about Paul showing up and demanding the rights he gave up? What about Emily’s wedding and Samantha’s career? When the entire group comes together and creates the Art Colony Studios and Gallery will this bring them together or consume all of their time? Find out the answers and what happens when one family finds their lives in an uproar, one father needs to decide if he can stand by his children and one man decides if Gabi is what he wants. An ending that only Sheryl Woods can create and a story that continues when her next novel comes out in June: Sea Glass Island. Who knows what’s in store for the Castle’s next. I read Wind Chime Point in one hour could not put it down.
