If you haven’t picked up a copy of Barefoot Season, Susan Mallery’s first book in the Blackberry Island series, then you’re definitely missing out. Ms. Mallery has crafted an entertaining read with grit, heart, and soul as she navigates the reader, Michelle, and Carly through the huge landmine known as life. Someone once said that “living” is hard work and they were correct, but it’s also the emotional journey that we embark on along the way that builds character and makes us who we are and Susan Mallery proves that over and over with the turn of every page in Barefoot Season. Bravo Ms. Mallery because you’ve hit a home run with Barefoot Season and are off to a great start with your Blackberry Island series.
