Alexis owns and auto repair shop and Vince is her star mechanic. She's hopelessly in love with him and daydreams often what it would be like to wake in his arms after a passionate night of love making. She finally gets her chance at happiness when Vince breaks up with his long-time girlfriend.
When he stays late for work one evening, he finds Alexis asleep in a room off of the main office. Vince has the same dreams about Alexis that she has about him and when she awakens to find he's been watching her, their passion culminates in an erotic shower scene.
After their initial encouter, the two head back to Alexis' place and spend the weekend making love and exploring their sexual urges, including a scene with icing from a popular breakfast pastry.
But once Monday morning rolls around, Vince gets a call from his ex. Alexis is torn between doing the right thing by just letting him go, or letting her heart decide what to do.
"The Mechanic is a good, hot, short story." - Nannette from Joyfully Reviewed.
Vince walked into the room, unaware of Alexis sleeping on the futon. He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw her. He walked to the end of the futon, picked up the wet towel and hung it neatly in the bathroom. He gathered up her clothes, folded them neatly and put them on the counter in the bathroom. He could still smell her scent in the steam dissipating in the bathroom. He paused for a moment, inhaling the smell that he always associated with his Allie. There was a slight smell of motor oil, but the distinct scent, the one he knew to be hers, was soft and feminine. It had his head spinning and the muscles in his groin tightening as he imagined her in the shower, naked and soapy with the water cascading over her ample breasts.
Vince shook his head and brought himself back to reality. He stepped out of the bathroom and heard Alexis whispering softly when he was leaving. He looked over to make sure she was still sleeping. He felt a twitch in his pants when she seductively called out his name in her sleep. Vince just stood and watched her sleep. He'd always thought she was beautiful with her big brown eyes, high cheekbones and full, inviting lips. He'd always wondered what it would feel like to kiss those lips, to lose himself in the sweet taste of her.
As he stood there and continued to watch her sleep, his eyes slowly traced the soft curves of her breasts, down her body to her full hips, then her long legs. He watched as her hand moved down her body seductively, slipping inside her panties. She shifted a bit, letting her fingers find her opening and plunging them inside. He couldn't believe what he was seeing and felt himself getting harder just watching her. He blushed profusely as he opened the door to leave and heard her utter his name again while she pleasured herself in her sleep.
Alexis' lifelong dream was to own an auto shop. After her parents die, she is left money and the first thing she does with it is buy the auto shop. The business starts to take off and she finds herself in need of a mechanic. Vince and Alexis have been attracted to each other since the day they met while literally bumping into one another outside the auto shop. Over time the attraction toward each other has grown stronger. When Vince breaks up with his girlfriend, he stays longer than usual working on the cars. He feels he has nothing to go home to. Is this finally the time both Vince and Alexis can enter into a serious relationship and if so, for how long?
Alexis was a very passionate and strong woman who didn't need a man but wanted one in particular. Vince was the epitome of sex personified. The relationship between these two characters left me breathless and wanting more. From the daydreaming scenes to the humor, The Mechanic caught my interest and kept it there. I found myself turning pages faster than I could read. The characters of Alexis and Vince were very believable, exciting and enjoyable. Vivian Vincent did an outstanding job with The Mechanic. There was a perfect weave of humor and passion throughout the book. I really felt connected to the characters which is usually very hard for me to do in a short story. The ending couldn't have been more perfect! I would definitely recommend this book and I feel that I absolutely must read another book written by the very talented writer Ms. Vivian Vincent.
