Cassidy Jenson talks her long time on again off again boyfriend into a ski trip that she hopes will help them improve their relationship. But Rick continues his verbally abusive behavior and actually abandons her at the resort. Finally Cassidy has had enough but Rick has told her for years that no one else will ever love her and other destructive things that have eroded her self-confidence. When she meets and is attracted to Daniel, an apparently really nice man who seems to always be around when she needs help, will Cassidy be able to see his true value and overcome the damage from Rick?
I really enjoyed this story. At the beginning I wasn’t too sure about Cassidy as she took Rick’s abuse but I loved it when she started sticking up for herself and told Rick she was through with him! Daniel is a dream man but he also has his own relationship issues to deal with. The clash between Cassidy and Daniel as they are trying to deal with their attraction and their past relationship problems is very well done. It would be wonderful if all women who have experience abusive relationships could meet men like Daniel who treat them with reverence and respect. But even without Daniel, Cassidy is in the process of taking her own life back and it is a joy to see the process. I found this story both entertaining and uplifting. If you are looking for a sweet love story that rises up out of bad circumstances, you will like Snowbound! This is the first book I have read by this author but I will be watching for more.
