Logan Fyre just wants to cut a deal with Ray Borne and get him out of the Gatehouse to the estate he and his partner just bought to develop into a hotel. Offering the guy money hasn't worked, neither has buying the bank that held his mortgage… Logan is determined to have that Gatehouse, so he's trying some intimidation in person.
Raelyn Borne has coveted the Gatehouse ever since she was a little girl. When the previous owner decides to sell, she jumps at the chance to buy it, over extending herself in the process. Now the main estate is being developed and the new owners want her house, but Rae isn't interested in selling.
Rae is about to find out that Playing with Fyre can be dangerous.
I loved Playing with Fire by Mina Carter. It was fun, fast and kept me guessing the whole time I was reading. The characters are both extremely dynamic with a fierce interaction that just keeps you right on the edge. I usually hate game playing, but since they both did it, it equaled out and it did have the customary Happily Ever After in the end. All in all a perfect read to while away some free time. Kudos to Ms. Carter and I'll be watching for more from her.
