One good heartbreak deserves another.
Mandy plans to leave her husband the minute their month of counseling is over. How can she forgive his outrageous affair? It would almost be funny if the consequences weren't so harsh. They've got kids, and families with strong -- and warped -- opinions on marriage.
Her aunt thinks she should take a page from the black widow spider. Her brother's begging to avenge her broken heart, and their marriage counselor offers to play the willing victim in some payback sex.
While her clueless husband launches a campaign to win her back, Mandy meets Adam, the perfect shoulder to cry on. Will perfect justice prove just how sweet revenge can be when you wait for it?
Content Warning: Real people aren't all good or all bad. Neither are the characters in this story. The shade of right or wrong you see may depend upon whose glasses you are looking through.
When Mandy catches her husband Mike in the garage with Lana everything starts to fall apart. Mike is hell bent on getting her back and Mandy isn’t sure she wants to be gotten back. How will she ever forget what she saw, much less forgive? Add in attractive and sexy Adam, met while jogging after she’s discovered “The Indiscretion,” and things get interesting and confusing quickly. Is she as bad as Mike? What about the children? What should she do?
Waiting For Revenge is an engrossing read about a painful but eventually hopeful slice of life. I was captivated from the moment I started and didn’t want to stop. I felt the betrayal, grief, confusion and passion. It feels like a sucker punch in the gut when you catch your husband in flagrante delicto. It’s an emotional roller coaster and you’re along for the ride. Mike suddenly discovers just how much he loves and doesn’t want to lose Mandy. Mandy, however, can barely stand for him to touch her. All she feels is revulsion and disgust remembering where he’s “been.” Was it only the one time? I found myself both angry at and feeling sorry for Mike. How could he be so stupid? Was she worth it? You stand the chance of losing everything. If you truly love your wife how could you even go there? What do you do as the wronged spouse? Have revenge sex or does that make you as bad as the cheater? How do you ever get past “that” burned on your retinas? Do you forget and forgive? How can you ever trust them again? Can there be something on the other side of this, perhaps something better? Waiting For Revenge is a look at infidelity, the havoc it wreaks and life during and after. For those who like their fiction viable, I highly recommend it.
