Madelyn, on a lark, puts her soul up for sale on UBuy and people bid on it? Who would buy a soul and what do they expect to get for their money? Then a gorgeous stranger, who apparently is the winner of her soul, for $666, shows up and says she must perform a series of tests to measure her true worth. Each test seems to put Madelyn and her cat Brutus in danger. Is she fighting to truly save her soul? And at the end of the test, on All Hallows’ Eve, will she be approaching heaven or hell?
The premise of One Soul for Sale is very interesting, if you offer your soul for sale are you truly offering your soul? Madelyn seems to be extremely naïve but she is an intelligent woman so why would she do something so apparently stupid as to challenge the powers of heaven and hell? I got frustrated at her cavalier attitude and how slowly she seems to get that she may be in real trouble here…but I was still very intrigued about what the end result would be. There seemed to be two forces battling for Madelyn’s soul as she tries to complete the task set before her, to prove her worth but who is the bad guy and who is the good guy? This story will keep you guessing all the way to the end! If you like unusual stories, with a twist of paranormal, and a touch of whimsy, then you will like One Soul for Sale.
