The Aequitas, part angel and demon, have kept the balance between the forces of good and evil -- until now.
When Etienne Grant is kidnapped and transformed into an Aequitas, marriage to Auria is the only thing that will save his soul.
Auria is a beautiful but efficient Aequitas, a General who wants nothing to do with love. A former lover has plans to prevent any hope of happiness with her new husband, and after murdering his own best friend and forcing Auria to join his rebellion, the balance between good and evil spirals out of control.
Can Etienne's tenderness melt Auria's cold heart and heal the pain of their secret pasts? Their very survival depends on it.
Etienne Grant hears a voice tell him that he is in danger. All of a sudden he gets accosted and thrown to the ground by a beautiful woman. Her name is General. She is an Aequitas, part angel and demon. She tells Etienne that she has been ordered to retrieve him. He is to give up his soul.
Etienne finds himself in another realm. It is here that Etienne learns that there will be a ceremony. Before the ceremony, Etienne is turned into an Aequitas. During the ceremony, he will be allowed to choose from three cups filled with blood. The cup he chooses is the person who his soul will go to. That person will drink from Etienne's cup and he from their's. This allows a link to exist between the two.
He is now married to a woman named Auria. This match is not made in heaven. Auria wants nothing to do with Etienne. Will these two be able to make it work or end up killing each other instead?
I have to admit that when I first started reading this book, I couldn't really get my mind to make sense of what the story was about. Even though the summary did explain it. I believe a reason for this is because that while the plot was good, it just was way out there. In fact I almost gave up on the book. It is a good thing I didn't as the sexual chemistry between Etienne and Auria is out of this world H-O-T! So if you are looking for something new to read then give Acquitasl: Betrayal a try.
