Bride Quartet Series, book 2
Love blooms in the second novel in Nora Roberts's celebrated Bride Quartet series.
As little girls MacKensie, Emma, Laurel, and Parker spent hours acting out their perfect make believe "I do" moments. Years later their fantasies become reality when they start their own wedding planning company to make every woman's dream day come true. With perfect flowers, delicious desserts, and joyful moments captured on film, Nora Roberts's Bride Quartet shares each woman's emotionally magical journey to romance.
In Bed of Roses, florist Emma Grant is finding career success with her friends at Vows wedding planning company, and her love life appears to be thriving. Though men swarm around her, she still hasn't found Mr. Right. And the last place she's looking is right under her nose.
But that's just where Jack Cooke is. He's so close to the women of Vows that he's practically family, but the architect has begun to admit to himself that his feelings for Emma have developed into much more than friendship. When Emma returns his passion-kiss for blistering kiss-they must trust in their history...and in their hearts.

To Emma Grant romance is everything. All her life she has dreamed of moonlight dances, candlelight dinners, soft music and flowers. As a matter of fact, she earns a living as a florist with her closest friends at Vows, their wedding planning business. Realizing that she is falling for a close family friend, Jack, is a bit disturbing but she finds they truly enjoy each other’s company. Until she makes a fatal mistake and intrudes on Jack’s territory…his home.
Jack is very happy with Emma but he has always kept his relationships at arm’s length and this one isn’t an exception. After one horrible day he arrives home to find Emma in his kitchen cooking and singing to music. His space. Words are exchanged and everything ends. Will he be able to convince Emma it was all a mistake? Will Emma be able to forgive him or will they lose each other and have to settle to be friends?
Nora Roberts has crafted, yet again, a series that will make you crave for the next story. The characters are fabulously flawed and the idea of the wedding planning business sucked this reader right into the story. I did not read the first in the series but I will most certainly go back and read Mac’s story. I loved Jack as a hero…such a typical guy but so wonderful at the same time. I would have liked to have read more about their wedding but I have a feeling we might get to do so in one of the upcoming stories. Bravo to Roberts for Bed of Roses!
