Karl Jackson and Joe Doyle are co-workers on a small monitoring station that supervises the outskirts of space for traffic going in and out around earth. The two men take turns on twelve hour shifts and Karl has just woken up to discover they have no gravity. Since it is almost his shift he volunteers to go check out the problem. Unfortunately the problem is not at all what he is expecting to find!
This is a cute science fiction short story in which the action is quick and the suspense palatable. The story primarily deals with Karl as he tries to find the problem with their station. He is a capable, intelligent, quick thinking and quick acting astro-engineer and it is his abilities that will save them or not. I enjoyed the story and would like to read more similar tales from JH Bográn.
