SURRENDER TO DESIRE with Tory Richards

Surrender to Desire is available on Smashwords today! This short, erotic romance is the 2nd book in the trilogy of the Evans brothers. You met Beau and Marissa in A Perfect Fit. Now read Blade and Callie’s story! Both books can stand alone.

BlurbCallie thought her man troubles were over when she accepts work at the Evans ranch. Until Blade Evans rescues her out of a tree and she winds up in his arms, and his bed. Against her will she starts to fall for the handsome cowboy. Then begins to wonder, as his new housekeeper, is she just a convenient outlet for his sexual urges? Or does he feel the same way about her?

Unedited Excerpt

Oh Crap! Callie jumped out of bed the next morning, swearing when she realized she’d forgotten to set the alarm. It was five till six. That meant she had five minutes to get Blade’s breakfast ready. Voices drew her blurry gaze to the TV, which was still on. She’d fallen asleep and slept the whole night through. She rushed to the bathroom, splashed some cold water onto her face, and dashed from her room.

Her mind was racing as she quickly filled the coffee pot. She found the Texas bread in the fridge and popped two pieces into the toaster that was on the counter. The clock on the stove showed it was ten minutes after six. Grateful Blade was running late himself that morning, she began to search for a frying pan. Just as she found one in the bottom cupboard next to the stove footsteps behind her revealed Blade had entered the room.

“Good morning!” Callie was so nervous she didn’t give a thought to the way Blade was looking at her, or the reason why.  “I’m so sorry I’m late the first day. I, ah, forgot to set the alarm. I fell asleep watching TV and slept right through the night. I never do that. I must have been really tired.” She knew she was chattering a mile a minute but couldn’t seem to stop herself. She was nervous and aware she hadn’t set a very good example her first day on the job. “Coffee will be ready in a minute. Just let me get these eggs going.”

“Hold on!” he barked.

Callie stopped what she was doing and waited for him to continue. He was dressed much like he was the day before. Looking very male and capable of anything. As the silence grew between them she began to calm down. And that’s when she became aware of other things. Like the smell of coffee filling the kitchen, the sensual heat in Blade’s eyes as they lingered on her, the tic in his square jaw. Is he angry with me?

She knew the nightshirt covered her decently, stopping at mid-thigh. Marissa was a little smaller than her, so the material covering her breasts was stretched and she’d been forced to leave some of the buttons undone. Callie glanced down to make sure nothing was hanging out. It was worse than she thought. She wanted to groan when she saw how much cleavage was exposed, and that her hard, brown nipples looked like they were about to poke right through the filmy shirt.

Her gaze returned to Blade’s in time to see he was staring down at her breasts. She wanted the floor to open up and swallow her, praying he didn’t think she’d dressed like this to come on to him. Surely he remembered she didn’t have anything with her. When his gaze drifted lazily back up to her, Callie offered him a shy smile.

“Marissa gave this to me.” A slight draft brushed over her legs and for the first time she noticed how short the shirt hung on her. She reached down a little self-conscious to see where the hem rested against her upper thigh.

His left eyebrow raised a fraction, and he crossed his arms. “I’m not complaining. You show up every morning dressed like this and you can be as late as you want.”

Final book will cover Chaz and Val’s story!

Tory Richards and PASSIONATE ENCOUNTERS giveaway

Hi everyone! I am so thrilled to be here today. I’m a grandma who writes smut, otherwise known as Tory Richards. I’m multi-published, and you can find my books at Ellora’s Cave, Liquid Silver Books, The Wild Rose Press, and Whiskey Creek Press Torrid. I do have two books under my real name, Debbie Wallace, at Whiskey Creek Press. They are mainstream romances and two of the first books I had published. One of which, Cupid’s Arrow, was on the publisher’s bestseller’s list for two consecutive months.

I am shamelessly promoting today. It’s not often that I have two books come out in the same month. And today, Passionate Encounters will be released with Whiskey Creek Press Torrid. It’s also my first book cover with the smoking hot Jimmy Thomas on it!  Passionate Encounters is the new, improved, and highly sexed up version of Cupid’s Arrow.

Mike Denton knows he’s in big trouble the minute he meets attractive divorcee Emma Stuart. Busy raising a teenage daughter, he doesn’t have time to pursue his own needs until she’s out of high school. That doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy an occasional after noon delight. The only problem is Emma’s not that kind of woman. And her pretty brown eyes and luscious curves lure him into breaking his one hard fast rule of not sleeping with the same woman twice.

Emma thought she was content with her quiet new life down on the lake. That is until a mistake lands the small town’s hunky detective on her doorstep. As soon as their eyes meet, her body responds to his sex appeal in a big way, reminding her she hasn’t had sex in two years. After he leaves, she thinks they’ll never see each other again. But what Emma hadn’t counted on was her sister’s match making skills.

Hot Spot is my second book due out on August 13th at Liquid Silver Books. It’s a short erotic romance and my second release with them.

Hot SpotLiquid Silver Books

There’d been something brewing between John and Sammy twenty years ago when they were teenagers. Only good girl Sammy had been too afraid of his bad boy image. Besides, in those days all he’d wanted was sex. She opted for his safer and more predictable brother, Pat. And when they get married, John disappears.

They’re reunited during a family reunion, and the years disappear in the blink of an eye. Seeing him now, as the successful, sexy man he’s become, reminds Sammy that they’re both free to pursue their attraction for each other that had never fully extinguished. Only giving in to a weekend of hot anywhere, anything goes sex isn’t the only thing Sammy faces. She has to come to terms with loving him.

Tory Richards on Life, Passionate Encounters and Hot Spot

Hi everyone! I’m so thrilled to be here today. I’m a grandma who writes smut, otherwise known as Tory Richards. I’m multi-published, and you can find my books at: Ellora’s Cave, Liquid Silver Books, The Wild Rose Press and Whiskey Creek Press Torrid. I do have two books under my real name, Debbie Wallace, at Whiskey Creek Press. They are mainstream romances and two of the first books I had published. One of which, Cupid’s Arrow, was on the publisher’s best seller’s list for two consecutive months.

I went through a slump, funk, whatever you want to call it, and didn’t write for a long time. I can’t blame writer’s block. It was just life. We’re a little over half way through the year and I’ve had to face losing my job, losing my soul mate of seventeen years, having to sell our house, take an unplanned but much needed trip home to help the healing process, and so on. I’m not writing this so you’ll feel bad for me. It’s life. We all have challenges, heartache, and a list of other stuff that we have to deal with. I’m not special. Though my grandchildren might argue about that.

The good news is I have begun to write again, and it feels so good! The Mercenary Way came out in February. I have two books due out in August and hopefully another two due out sometime later in the year. One is my first interracial erotic romance. I have simplified my life big time. Living full time with my daughter and her family has helped. I have my own mother-in-law area of the house where my four felines and I reside. I’m comfortable. As I get older I find I want less. After all, life is short you know, can’t spend it doing housework and washing nick knacks. And I want to spend as much of it with my grandchildren, whom I adore, and writing, which is my passion.

The two erotic romances coming out in August are Passionate Encounters, the new and improved and highly sexed up version of Cupid’s Arrow. And Hot Spot, a short erotic romance and my second release with Liquid Silver Books. I hope you’ll check them out. Below are blurbs, book covers and links.

Tory Richards – How I Got Here

No, I’m not going to start at the moment of conception, but I am very excited to be here today! This is my first time so I guess you can say I’m a Manic Readers virgin. Okay, stretching the truth a little? I guess at my age that would be a miracle. I mean, I’ve found and married my prince charming…twice!

I write under the pen name of Tory Richards. A member, KyAnn Waters told me I should join this site and, well, I almost always do what I’m told. KyAnn and I met at the 2009 Romantic Times Convention in Orlando Florida. I’ve been a published author since 2005 but have been writing all my life. Writing is my passion and for years I used it as thearapy. Therapy? I’m normal, I promise you. Just ask KyAnn!

I live in Florida with my soul mate and three pesky cats. One daughter, grown and I have one beautiful granddaughter. I love McDonald’s hazelnut iced coffee and Barnie’s Santa’s White Christmas coffee, I love chocolate, who doesn’t? And on Saturdays I watch sci-fi all day in my jammies.

Writing is a hobby for me. I was a closet writer for years. Kept it private, didn’t tell a soul that I was typing dirty stories on my manual typewriter in my bedroom, starting at the age of thirteen. The one time I told my parents what I wanted to be when I grew up they laughed at me. Talk about crushing my dreams! To this day I don’t think they realized how their reaction to my wanting to be a writer affected me. Hence not getting published for the first time until I was fifty.

It took my daughter and niece’s loving encouragement for me to submit to a publisher. That was after they read one of my books and said they thought it was as good if not better than a lot of books they’d read. Course, they’re not biased at all. But it did boost my confidence and I thought, what the heck, I’ll never know if I don’t try. Two months later I received my first contract! Needless to say I was in heaven.

I have several books published and today I’d like to talk about two of them. Starting with my first torrid romance with Whiskey Creek Press Torrid, It’s All in the Jeans came out in 2007. One (1) reader (drawn randomly) who comments on this post will win a download of it. I’ll announce who you are on my Romance with an Attitude Blog exactly one week from today.

“It’s All in the Jeans” is the story of a fire-fighter, Logan, recuperating from an accident that kills his two best friends. And a young woman, Libby, who will do anything to keep her grandmother from being sent to an assisted living facility. From the moment they meet sparks fly and they can’t keep their hands off each other. But since Logan was just dumped by a woman he thought loved him, he’s not interested in emotional attachments. So they come up with an outrageous solution, keep their relationship strictly sexual! Do they stick to their plan or give in to the overwhelming love that claims their hearts?

My current release, “The Cowboy Way” has a, you guessed it, cowboy as the hero. Chase is foreman and half owner of the ranch, the other half belonging to the heroine’s father. When Lacey comes home for a little R and R, trouble follows in the way of an escaped convict out for revenge against her father. Add a scorned ex-lover, arson and murder to the mix and you have suspense. Chase and Lacey, both strong willed individuals, don’t get along from the start. But they can’t ignore the sexual tension underlying their passionate encounters. Before long they find release in each other’s arms and bed.

“The Cowboy Way” has received rave reviews, I’m proud to say. Whipped Cream Reviews gave it their Best Book Rating, Coffee Time gave it 5 cups, Romance Junkies gave it a 5, The Romance Studio gave it 5 hearts. You can read them and more on my Tory Richards Website. One (1) reader will also be chosen to win a download of this book.

What’s next? I just finished my first short romance and a full length book, both I hope to submit soon. I also just received a contract for a previously released book that will go into print this time around. To meet the publisher’s guidelines I added 20,000 words which include a brand new last chapter. I’m really excited about that!

I have a monthly blog giveaway and a monthly newsletter if anyone is interested. Details can be found on my blog and website. I also have a nice Christmas giveaway this year but you’ll need to join my newsletter to be in the drawing for that.

Not to overstay my welcome, I’ll finish up by saying it was a pleasure being here today. My hope was to meet some new folks. Everyone have a great holiday season and stay safe.
