Unable to stop himself, Blane got up from his chair, nearly tipping it over, and took a step toward her. Aimee inhaled sharply, feeling her body thrum with expectation. She was thirsty for his touch, and for the pressure of his hot, heavy body against hers. Through half-closed lids, she watched as he captured a piece of ice from his own glass and reached for her.

Holy Hot Humidity! I don’t often get to see writers who have such a lovely command of the English language. This one is very short, but with the way Mooney tells it, you can actually feel every drop of ice, water, sweat that falls from either Blane or Aimee, because she has such a way with words.
This whole story only takes moments to read, & tells a tale that probably only takes half an hour to an hour to actually take place, but she packs a whollop into those few minutes. You might want to read it more than once to get all the nuances of language.
